Bumble Bees

Bumblebees are the large, fuzzy, black and yellow bees that fly slowy, drifting from flower to flower. Many people have even had bumblebees land on them and just shooed them away without being stung. However, bumblebees are very defensive of their territory and their nest. They will come out to chase you and they do not lose their stinger and can sting you more than once. Bumblebees build their nest underground and in structures.

Pictured here is a bumblebee nest in an attic. Notice they used the insulation as building material for their nest.

This picture is of a bumblebee nest next to a structure and under weeds. This nest also extended under ground.

A common practice for bumblebees is to use an abandoned bird nest for their nest. This picture shows a bumblebee nest made out of an abandoned bird nest.

All of the above insects are territorial and a professional pest control operator or expert in the field should be engaged to remove and control and address the problem of the above insects.
